I was able to make it to the Tierra Del Sol 4 Wheel Drive Club's annual Desert Safari this year. It's a huge event with every type of rig imaginable showing up. The event is now held at Ocotillo Wells just off Main Street. On Saturday our club journeyed north to the Truckhaven area and met up with BLM to do some volunteer work. The volunteer work was just basically driving around informing people of the rules in the area, handing out maps, and making a presence with the "Volunteer" signs on a coulpe of vehicles. Painless enough, but it was a long dusty ride from camp to the BLM trailer. It took us about two hours to get there.

On the way back we hit a couple of different areas with some fun notches. These are narrow little canyons with tight turns and twisty off camber climbs. Lots of fun to test your rig's articulation. We all made it through fine except that Bogdan broke a bead on one of the tight corners. He jacked up his Jeep and was able to re-seat the bead and fill the tire without changing out to his spare.
