We went back to Glamis for New Year's weekend again this year. It seemed more crowded than last year, at least it was at the washes. One or two trips there a year is enough for me theses days. I'd rather be rock crawling most of the time.
We did quite a bit a geocaching, which is great fun for the kids. We also set one of our own (under North County Crawlers) so we'll check on it from time to time to see if it gets any visitors and make sure it's stocked with goodies. Check it out the next time you're near the Wash 22 area; CG22P26.

No action shots of the Willys. Maybe I'll get some from the other guys on the trip later. I spent some time pulling out a couple of trucks stuck in the dunes. One of them was a Ford Ranger pre-runner. The other was his buddy in a Silverado that got stuck trying to pull the Ranger out. My Jeep was no match for the weight of the Silverado so I anchored the rear of my Jeep to another truck and pulled them each out with my winch. Maybe my old Warn sidewinder isn't done yet. Both trucks were in pretty deep and the winch seemed to pull them right out. I didn't mind doing it at all. The one thing I noticed (and told them) was that there was five or six of them there with three trucks and they had only one dinky shovel between all of them. A couple more shovels would've sped things up a bit. Oh well, they were nice guys and very appreciative.
