Glamis Sand Dunes

January, 2009

We took the Willys out in the sand over New Year's weekend. It did better than I expected, maybe because the sand was still a bit damp from recent rain. We did some exploring, but I didn't take the Jeep out into the big dunes. Not many of the standard destinations were close enough to where we were camped to travel to with the toddlers. An hour in the Jeep is about all a three year old can handle, so we stayed pretty close to camp.

We did make it to the Troll Hut, a brush enclosed circle (aka 'Love Shack'). I hadn't even heard of that spot until this trip, and I thought I had seen everything there was to see at Glamis over the years.

I also snapped a pic of this cool retro buggy we saw at the Vendors. I liked it because it's unique; different from all of the modern long travel sand cars you see out there these days. I'll bet they have a ton of fun in it.
